Protecting heritage, restoring nature and giving back to our community
Regenerative tourism is the foundation of everything we do at The Walled Gardens at Croome Court. For 25 years, our mission has been not only to restore the gardens but to ensure that every action, from planting to water use to community work, leaves the land, heritage and people better than we found them.
Water Sustainability
Our gardens operate using a fully self-sufficient irrigation system:
- 100% of our water is harvested rainwater
- Stored in underground tanks and pumped across the gardens
- Zero dependence on mains water
- Helping reduce carbon output and support long-term climate resilience
Pesticide-Free Gardening
We grow everything; from heritage fruit to thriving borders using no pesticides, creating:
- A healthier ecosystem
- Safe habitats for pollinators
- Cleaner soil and water
- True regenerative horticulture
Biodiversity & Wildlife Support
The Walled Gardens are home to:
- Great crested newts
- Hedgehogs
- Bees, butterflies & other pollinators
- Moorhens, ducks and bat species
We support biodiversity with:
- A new wildflower meadow
- Pollinator-friendly planting schemes
- Over 100 heritage apple varieties
- 42 varieties of heritage tomatoes
- Rare fruits and vegetables not found in supermarkets
Heritage Produce & Community Access
We believe heritage foods should be accessible to all.
Our produce is offered below market price, enabling local families to enjoy varieties not commercially available elsewhere.
